With Joe Hart's loss of form, will Manuel Pellegrini look to bring in another keeper?
With plenty of speculation surrounding the future of Joe Hart's future at Manchester City as their number one goalkeeper after several errors so far this season, manager Manuel Pellegrini may be on the lookout to bring a new goalkeeper to Eastlands. Here is a look at five the Chilean manager might consider:
Casillas has made no secret that it is a possibility he could do the unthinkable and depart Real Madrid. The Spaniard has been playing second fiddle since Jose Mourinho signed Diego Lopez. Current coach Carlo Ancelotti has stuck with Lopez and Pellegrini has worked with Casillas before. There would be some sense in this move.
Another goalkeeper who has worked with the Manchester City manager in the past – but more immediately during his time with Malaga. He is an experienced goalkeeper at the age of 32 so could be a viable option for Pellegrini.
There has been plenty of speculation linking Valdes with a move away from Barcelona. Barcelona have been linked with a number of replacements. Monaco are also rumoured to be interested so City may have to put an attractive package together if they wanted to land him.
Highly rated by many and there have been one or two murmurs that he could be linked with Barcelona. The Inter Milan stopper might be lured at the prospect of Champions League football, especially if the Italian side fails to qualify this season.
Perhaps the longest shot of them all given that he is on loan from Chelsea at Atletico Madrid. Doubtful that Chelsea would sell to a title rival but that doesn’t mean City wouldn’t try to land the Belgian goalkeeper. The most unlikely out of them all.
