Arsene Wenger asked if Chelsea deserved win: "No"

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has declined to admit Chelsea deserved their victory.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger oversaw his side's 2-0 League Cup loss to Chelsea, but refused to admit Mourinho's men were the better side.

He was asked by SkySports in his post-match interview, 'did Chelsea deserve their win?'

To which he offered a simple response: "No."

The Frenchman did however elaborate a little further.

"It was a very tight game. We made it very difficult for ourselves giving a goal away. They defended well.

"It is easier in a big game (to defend a lead), we had to come out,  they scored on the counter attack, they are good on the counter attack.

"A great goal, but it was a very tight game."

Former Chelsea assistant Ray Wilkins did not agree. He stated that the ease of Chelsea's win was 'slightly embarrassing', and that Mourinho's men 'wiped the floor' with the Gunners.

Wenger was pressed on Carl Jenkinson's mistake which led to the first goal, to which he responded:

"From the bench there is nothing I can do. I cannot head the ball."

Quizzed on Nicklas Bendtner's disappointing display, he said:

"I do not want to comment on the performances of individual players."

What do you think of Wenger's comments?
