Mino Raiola, the outspoken agent of AC Milan's Mario Balotelli, has surprisingly admitted that his client could be on his way to join Jose Mourinho at Chelsea.
Balotelli is regularly in the news for the wrong reasons in Italy and Raiola has been very vocal in criticising the press in the peninsula, even suggesting he may have made a mistake bringing the volatile marksman back to Serie A.
Chelsea boss Mourinho has been open about his admiration for Balotelli as a player and despite differences between the two men when they worked together at Inter there is said to be mutual respect, which has prompted rumours that the unsettled striker may be on his way to Stamford Bridge.
These rumours will be given new life by the latest comments from the player's representative on Italia 1 show Tiki Taka.
"Mourinho and Balotelli parted on good terms and they are always in contact, there is reciprocal respect," Raiola declared.
"You can say a lot of things about Balotelli but nobody can say he isn't a great striker. Will he join Chelsea? It could happen, but Adriano Galliani (AC Milan Vice-President) obviously doesn't want that."
Raiola also took the chance to once again reiterate his belief that Balotelli is harassed by the Italian media.
"I represent other players who play for AC Milan, but people only ever ask me about Mario," he said.
"In Italy people only ever talk about Balotelli. There is no other player who is the focus of so much chat. I don't want to talk about him any more."
Whether Chelsea feel that Balotelli would fit in with a resurgent Fernando Torres at Stamford Bridge remains to be seen, but it is looking less and less likely that the enigmatic frontman's long term future lies at San Siro.
