Manchester City latest: Debutant has mixed feelings while Caballero link resurfaces

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad...

The fall-out from Chelsea’s late win against Manchester City yesterday continues, with the Guardian running an editorial on Joe Hart and his less-than-impressive recent form.

Citing that Hart has been at fault for at least six of the goals he has conceded this season, the paper asks how much longer Manuel Pellegrini will persevere with the England stopper, and whether the Chilean has run out of ways to defend him.

It is an interesting read, and one that asks if Roy Hodgson may also be reviewing his goalkeeping options for England’s upcoming friendlies.

Coincidently (or otherwise) the Daily Mail has decided today would be a good day to report that Pellegrini continues to closely monitor Malaga ‘keeper Willy Caballero.

The Argentinean has already confirmed his former boss was keen to take him to the Etihad in the summer, and the Mail’s story ends with the suggestion he would be open to a January move.

And finally, debutant Martin Demichelis has reflected on yesterday’s match in an interview with City’s official website.

It’s a weird feeling,” he said. “I’m sad because we lost the match in the last minute.

But it’s great to be back on the pitch. I’m very happy to make my debut for City.”

No doubt he will hope his next match ends on a much happier note.
