Former Blaugrana defender Andreu Fontas has insisted that new manager Tata Martino has taken the club in a new direction.
Former Barca youth graduate Fontas is set to face his former employers on Tuesday evening for Week 11’s midweek round of fixtures. And the 23-year-old has claimed that the Argentine tactician has taken the Camp Nou club’s game to a new level.
'I believe that the new coach has incorporated some things that Barca did not have before, making them more dangerous and less predictable than in recent years,' Fontas told reporters, as quoted by Football Espana.
'To win against Barcelona would do our situation very well. It is almost impossible to take the ball from them, almost every team in the world fails to do so. We will have to use other weapons to try and hurt them both with and without the ball.
'For me, it will be a very special game because I will face many friends and former colleagues.'
