Arsenal latest: Injury updates on four stars, plus two youngsters who will feature

There has been a piece of superb news for Arsenal fans today with Serge Gnabry signing a new contract extension with the club. Arsene Wenger has described him as a real asset for the club who has the potential to go on and become a 'great player.' It comes just hours after the press in Gnabry's German homeland hailed his weekend display and described him as Arsenal's next 'great leader'.

Gnabry is however less than certain to feature against Chelsea tomorrow night after Arsene Wenger revealed he is 50/50 to feature. Wenger described it as a "slight problem, he got a kick on the ankle. He will be assessed tomorrow."

He is not the only one. Young midfielder Thomas Eisfeld is out with a back problem, while highly rated teenager Gedion Zelalem will not feature after Arsene Wenger said he is 'not yet available', and will instead play 45 minutes with Arsenal's under-18 side later this week.

There is an update on Mathieu Flamini's progress, although the outcome is still unclear. Arsene Wenger has said the groin injury 'does not look like a bad one', but the club are awaiting official results of a scan which took place earlier today.

Two youngsters definitely in line to feature against Chelsea in some form are Isaac Hayden and Ryo Miyaichi. Miyaichi will have more chance of playing from the start if Serge Gnabry fails a fitness test, although it is possible both could play from the beginning.
