Staged at the Phones 4 U Arena in Manchester, the UFC Fight Night 30 event was supposed to showcase home-town favourite Michael Bisping in the main event, but a serious eye injury prevented the top five consensus middleweight from participating in the mixed martial arts fight card.
If that was not frustrating enough for the fans who wanted to see the 34-year-old, an expert in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling, in action on Saturday, October 26, the crowd (predominantly a Manchester City audience, presumably) became audibly upset when it was announced that Manchester United defender Patrice Evra was in attendance.
So too, was Adnan Junuzaj, yet the youngster did not receive as frosty a reception as the Frenchman, who recently pledged his allegiance to Old Trafford amid reports he may leave the club as the expiration date of his current contract fast approaches.
He recently told MUTV: 'I haven't seen what people are saying but the thing is if someone wants to talk about my contract, which is ending after this year, they have to talk to Manchester United and with my agent. Me? I love this club so much.'
See below for the clip which shows Evra at the UFC, a night topped by the 185lb contest between Mark Munoz and Bisping's replacement Lyoto Machida, who announced himself in MMA with a first round head kick knockout victory.
