Arsenal weekend round-up: Flamini will miss three crunch games and Mulumbu interest

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal won their weekend fixture, but were made to work for it against Crystal Palace. Palace had some great opportunities in the game, but Wojciech Szczesny was on top form in the Arsenal goal.

However a poor challenge from Adlene Guediora on Serge Gnabry gave Arsenal the chance to take a lead from the penalty spot, which he did just after half time.

However Arteta was sent off later in the game for a foul on Marouane Chamakh. In the end however, Olivier Giroud tucked away a goal after superb work out left from Aaron Ramsey - to keep The Gunners top of the Premier League.

Arsenal fans and the boss were not happy with the red-card for Arteta, they felt the decision was harsh. But they will not be appealing the ban, so the midfielder will miss the game against Liverpool next weekend.

Mathieu Flamini also left the action early, after suffering a groin problem in the opening few minutes.

It has now been confirmed that Flamini will be out of action for two weeks, ruling him out of games against Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United.

Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on West Brom midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu. The DR Congo international is reportedly being lined up as a back-up plan for Mathieu Flamini - after seeing how well the side are playing since Flamini returned.

He is set to be the subject of a £7 million bid in January, after he was watched by the recruitment team at Stoke City last week.

Finally and Arsenal have reportedly been told that Robert Lewandowski is available for a cut-price £7 million in January. It comes as reports suggest Bayern Munich have pulled the plug on any deal to sign the Pole next summer.

Chelsea and Manchester United are also said to be in the bidding war.
