Just three points separate Manchester United in eighth from Stoke City in 16th, but surely the unthinkable will not happen again today…will it?
United got back to winning ways in impressive style against Real Sociedad in midweek. And David Moyes must decide whether to stick with the midfield and forward line that played so well against the Spaniards, or change things for the visit of United old boy Mark Hughes.
A win will not see the champions move any higher, but a defeat would be another straw on the back of an increasingly uncomfortable camel.
Stoke’s last victory at Old Trafford was a 1-0 win back in 1976, and they have taken just a single point from their last 11 league matches against the Red Devils. However, Stoke’s impressive defensive record this season suggests United could be in for another tricky afternoon the longer they go without scoring.
What do you think the result will be this afternoon?
