Former Arsenal man key for Yeovil at Forest: Match Preview

Nottingham Forest 2

Nottingham Forest and Yeovil Town weekend match preview

Nottingham Forest and Yeovil go at each other in a repeat of the infamous 2007 play-off semi-final shocker.

Yeovil went to the City Ground with not much hope after losing 2-0 in the first leg at Huish Park and then went the City Ground and produced a night they would never forget. The plucky Somerset based side brushed themselves down from their home defeat and gave one of the best performances in their history, winning the tie 5-2 and going to the play-off final.

The game at the City Ground on Saturday is a million miles away from the game in 2007. Both teams are now in the higher division and its fair to say have a higher calibre of player. Nevertheless, Yeovil go there with a similar expectation than they did during that fateful night.

Nottingham Forest have started the season strongly, unbeaten at home and are concentrating on trying to force themselves into the automatic promotion fight under the tutorship of Billy Davies. Yeovil on the other hand have been shell-shocked by the quality within the Championship and have already registered heavy defeats to Derby and Middlesbrough.

They have managed to put in some plucky performances which has seen them become a little unlucky in games, and they did win their first away game this season. Despite the 3 points on the opening day, they've only picked up 2 points away from home since then.

Forest will look to play on the offensive and keep the ball as much as possible. I fancy it to be a frustrating afternoon for the team in green and white who will need to keep their level of concentration high to get any kind of result.

Key Battle

Andy Reid vs Luke Ayling –The former Arsenal full back comes up against the former Tottenham wide-man (no pun intended) in what should prove to be a key battle in the game.

Andy Reid has been instrumental for Forest this season, producing a lot of their good play. Luke Ayling is a highly rated former Arsenal youth player who will be asked to put the shackles on the Republic of Ireland international.

What is your prediction for the game?
