Manchester United fans - you can have one striker to play in a Champions League final - who would you pick?
Jamie Carragher has made up his mind, and on current form it would be Wayne Rooney.
He believes the Englishman is more important to David Moyes' side at present than any other player, including Robin van Persie.
He told SkySports: "Rooney is Manchester United's main man.
"OK, Van Persie is not there tonight, but Rooney has been their best player this season over the past six or seven games."
Certainly in the opener against Swansea it seemed anything but. Van Persie scored a magnificent brace and Rooney appeared disenchanted upon his cameo from the bench, even though he provided two assists.
Van Persie has four goals to Rooney's three, but the Dutchman is yet to register a single assist this season, usually a strong point for him.
He clearly has not been at his best, although it was his early goal against Southampton which gave United a lead, whereas Rooney was disappointing.
Rooney showed just how exciting he can be against Real Sociedad last night. He had eight shots on goal, and provided four key passes, leading to goalscoring opportunities.
It was to United's wastefulness that they could not take advantage of them. An argument could be created that Rooney actually blossomed without playing in Van Persie's shadow - but that provides no answer for the club.
The fact the debate rages over which player is United's main man is only a good thing, nobody wants a club labelled a 'one-man team', they want multiple players to step up.
David Moyes' big challenge is to get Rooney and Van Persie excelling together.
Can the pair play together? Who is the key man?
