Andros Townsend, Kyle Walker and Paulinho are missing from the Tottenham squad to play Sheriff later today.
“We have left three players at home - Andros, Kyle Walker and Paulinho - but we have still brought a very strong squad. The players will embrace this game with that motivation and they have been excellent,” said the Spurs boss.
In transfer news, Serie A club Inter Milan are being linked with a move for Tottenham midfielder Sandro.
The 24-year-old Brazilian has featured this season following a knee injury and Inter are thought to be eyeing up a winter deal.
However, the Metro has reported that Inter are ready to make a bid of between £5-6 million which is likely to be lower than Tottenham’s valuation.
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has hinted he is happy with the club’s current position.
Spurs currently sit fifth in the Premier League table, in the hunt for Champions League football and having made a good start to their Europa League campaign.
“The Premier League looks extremely open this season. It’s so open that the 14th team has 10 points. Everyone is so tight together,” said AVB.
