Arsenal star Santi Cazorla has been heaping praise on his new team-mate Mesut Ozil. The Spaniard, who recently returned from injury, has heralded the German international as one of the best in the world, and compared him to some pretty illustrious company:
Speaking to Arsenal.com, he stated:
“We have got to know each other and I have to say that it is very easy to have a good understanding with a great player like him, since our playing philosophy is very similar. As the days go by we have a better association on the pitch. Personally I am very happy to have Mesut as a team-mate. He is a great signing and everyone enjoys the way he plays.
“Mesut is a player of a different kind. He is a joy to watch and has a lot of talent. Like Zidane or Ronaldinho, he can be one of those players who marks an era.’’
Also on the official website, Olivier Giroud has been speaking about the need to stay calm despite the defeat to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.
He pointed out that the result was only the third game the club had not won this season and their performance against the German outfit warranted more than the 2-1 defeat.
Arsenal’s young stars drew 0-0 in the UEFA Youth League last night. The 0-0 draw with Dortmund saw no incidents of real note, other than Chuba Akpom being shown his marching orders late on for dissent.
Arsenal remain top of their Group.
Carlos Vela has confirmed he could return to Arsenal one day. The striker, speaking to Sky Sports, admitted that the North London club have a buy-back option every summer - and while he stopped short of suggesting he wanted a move, the Real Sociedad player was also not dismissive of the possibility.
