Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and FC Schalke will all have scouts at Anderlecht v PSG this evening according to Belgian newspaper La Derniere Heure.
Just who they will all be watching is open to debate but it’s likely that will all have eyes on the same players, plotting over potential moves ahead of the winter transfer window this January.
There is bound to be a superb mix of young talent and experience across each team and each of the sides listed above has been linked with various players from either side over the last months and weeks.
So why are they likely to be eyeing up?
Central defender Cheikhou Kouyate has been earning some decent reviews in the Belgian press and the 23-year-old is arguably the best defender in the current first team squad at the Belgian club. He’s started every single match that he’s been selected for so far this season.
Massimo Bruno is definitely a candidate for attention because the 20-year-old can cover multiple attacking positions. He can play up front as a striker or he can switch out to the left hand side and he’s got a great record of five goals and four assists from league appearances this season.
Youri Tielemans is perhaps the most intriguing because he’s only 16-years-old. He can play a central midfield role or a holding midfield role and has made eight appearances for Anderlecht this season in the Belgian league and the Champions League. He’s a teenager who has been linked with the best clubs across Europe.
Matias Suarez is at the other end of the spectrum, much older and more experienced at 25-years-old. He has one of the best records in the Belgian league this season with six goals and seven assists from 11 games. Spurs need a striker, so they may well have on eye on this forward.
Adrien Rabiot is a player that Spurs have been linked with before and Arsenal most recently. The 18-year-old has already made two appearances in the Champions League and has been likened to Zinedine Zidane in some sections of the French press.
Left-back Lucas Digne is definitely someone who may be watched by the top clubs, one of the best young defensive talents in Europe. However, the 20-year-old is on a long contract with PSG having only just joined so any side looking to go after him may find that very difficult.
Manchester City could well be taking a closer look at Zlatan Ibrahimovic who they have been widely linked with in the recent past. City have one of the best core groups of strikers in the Premier League but Manuel Pellegrini may be mulling over some potential changes this January.
