Predicted Swansea XI to face Kuban – Shelvey to return to midfield

Team news for the Europa League game at the Liberty Stadium on Thursday evening (8.05pm).

Swansea are once again without defender Ashley Williams for the visit of Russian side Kuban Krasnodar but are expected to recall Jonjo Shelvey to the midfield for the Group A game.

Shelvey, a summer signing from Liverpool, was an unused substitute in the 4-0 Premier League win against Sunderland but may come in for Jonathan De Guzman who could be rested.

Wales centre-half Williams remains out with an ankle injury and is joined in the treatment room by fellow defender Ben Davies who is out for a possible four weeks. That means Neil Taylor will fill in at left-back whilst Jordi Amat will continue to deputise in the centre alongside Chico Flores.

In midfield, Shelvey should line up in the centre with Leon Britton whilst Nathan Dyer and Wayne Routledge offer the width. Swans boss Michael Laudrup may have Pablo Hernandez back from a hamstring injury but he may have to settle for a place on the bench.

There should be no changes up front for the team that sit top of the group with Michu playing just behind Wilfred Bony.

Predicted Swansea line-up: Tremmel, Tiendalli, Chico, Amat, Taylor, Dyer, Britton, Shelvey, Routledge, Michu, Bony
