Mourinho to Chelsea stars: 'You have garbage, clean it'

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed how he spoke to his players after their defeat to Basel.

Chelsea had an unfortunate start to their Champions League campaign, sloppily losing 2-1 to Basel.

It saw an angry Roman Abramovich storm to the dressing room at Stamford Bridge evidently wanting an inquest into the loss.

After setting the results straight with two successive wins, manager Jose Mourinho has revealed how he spoke to his players.

Speaking to SkySports after the Schalke win, he said: "I told them after the first game 'you have garbage, clean it.'"

They certainly did that. Chelsea demolished the German side 3-0, who had only lost once in their previous 10 games and topped the group with six points going into the game.

Chelsea now sit level with them, and two points ahead of Basel. Only over-confidence would surely cause Chelsea to lose at home to Schalke next time out, but with Mourinho's comments ringing in their ears, it is not a result you would be betting on.

What do you think of Mourinho's analogy?
