Arsenal lost 2-1 at home to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night and Ian Wright and Roy Keane are among those to already criticise the players.
It would not be an Arsenal game without supporter Piers Morgan weighing in via Twitter.
He slammed right-back Bacary Sagna for his part in Dortmund's winner, calling his failure to close down the Bundesliga side's attack a 'lack of effort'.
I can deal with losing to a very good side, but I can't deal with lack of effort. I'm talking about you on that 2nd goal, Mr Sagna. #Afc— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) October 22, 2013
Sagna's contract is up at the end of the season, and with the Frenchman yet to commit to a new deal - his relationship with the fans is likely to remain on edge.
The right-back could have got tighter to the opposition for the goal, but calling his shortcomings a 'lack of effort' is taking it to another level of criticism. The one thing a professional never wants to hear is that he did not try, which in a player like Sagna's case is surely unlikely.
What do you think of the criticism and Sagna's part in the goal?
