Manchester United’s struggle to get going this season continued this weekend, with a home draw against Southampton yesterday continuing what has been their worst ever start to a Premier League season.
What Manchester United need is a spark from midfield, a creative player in their side who can work wonders - something that at the moment, they do not seem to have.
Somebody like, Franck Ribery?
If the man who is currently serving as the clubs captain had anything to do with it, Ribery would be there.
Patrice Evra has been speaking to French TV today about all things Manchester United and Les Bleus - with the subject of Ribery coming to the fore.
And Evra admitted he has tried on numerous occasions to convince Ribery to come to United, and be the next Eric Cantona:
"Franck is the best player in the world… it was unfair that he did not get the Ballon d'Or, it is a treat to see him play, when you play with him at the moment is a gift … I'm going to ask Moyes to recruit? I had already spoken with Ferguson. I so want him to become the new Cantona . But he made his career at Bayern. He hesitated, he was also the Real. After Bayern had asked for a large sum. I did everything for him to join me in Manchester , but it did not happen... "
At the moment, in terms of current form, may believe that the French international midfielder is in fact the best player in the world, ahead of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
He may not have the same goal return as the two currently considered the best in the world - but his all-round play has been superb, as Bayern Munich have conquered all-comers.
So we expect, that when Evra says to Moyes ‘hey gaffer, sign my mate Ribery’ that the former Everton supremo will happily oblige the idea - but the simple fact is, Bayern won’t be selling him for all the money United, or anyone for that matter, would throw at them.
