Manchester United defender dubs Arsenal opener 'sensational' and 'total football'

Rio Ferdinand has been singing the praises of Jack Wilshere's opening goal for Arsenal yesterday.

Yesterday saw Arsenal defeat Norwich City 4-1 at The Emirates Stadium with a sumptuous display of football that had pundits and fans purring.

The moment that was held in the highest esteem was the first goal. Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere and Olivier Giroud combined with marvellous one-touch precision football that left John Ruddy bamboozled in the Norwich goal, as Wilshere’s first time effort trickled beyond him into the net.

Arsene Wenger called it one of the best goals he has ever seen, and as a team-goal, this certainly has the hallmarks of being a potential goal of the season.

It even had one Arsenal fan so excited he uploaded it to a porn site … apparently (the things you find out on Twitter these days).

But the goal was so good it even had potential title rivals applauding.

That’s if you count Manchester United as potential title rivals these days.

Arsenal fans might not considering the respective sides current place in the Premier League.

But Wilshere’s former England team-mate Rio Ferdinand was clearly one person impressed by the goal. He might have typed what he did on Twitter regrettably a day after watching his United side draw with Southampton at home.

Here is what he had to say about it on Twitter earlier today …

And you cannot blame him for the excitement, as it was a truly remarkable goal.

However, he could have spelled 'Wilshire' correctly ...
