CONFIRMED: Holtby starts -Tottenham starting line-up against Aston Villa

Lewis Holtby

Who lines up for Tottenham Hotspur at Villa Park this afternoon?

Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping today that the defeat against West Ham in their last Premier League outing was not the start of a poor run against teams playing in claret and blue - as they take on Aston Villa this afternoon.

Villa have already pulled off one shock against a North London side this season, downing Arsenal at home on the opening day of the season.

They have also beaten Manchester City this term, so the game at Villa Park will certainly not be a walk-over.

Spurs need to bounce back, after being humbled at home by rivals West Ham. They did play well in the game, dominating possession - but the fact remained that when it came to putting the ball in the back of the net, they couldn’t finish the job.

That has been their problem for most of the current season, a simple lack of finishing the main issue despite snapping up Roberto Soldado in the summer from Valencia.

So who is tasked with scoring the goals today?

Tottenham Hotspur XI: Lloris; Walker, Chiriches, Dawson, Vertonghen; Paulinho, Sandro; Townsend, Holtby, Sigurdsson; Soldado

Subs: Friedel, Naughton, Dembele, Eriksen, Lamela, Lennon, Defoe.
