Coach does not sound like he will be selling 'sensitive' forward to Arsenal

Fernando Llorente has been linked with a surprise Arsenal switch, but Juventus coach Antonio Conte does not sound like a boss who intends on selling.

Fernando Llorente was billed as a big signing for Juventus when he signed this summer, but he got off to a less than auspicious start.

The Spaniard didn't make his first Serie A start until late September, with his absence from the first team taking up many columns inches in the Italian press.

The 28-year-old has bagged just one goal so far for the Italians, and has even been linked with a January loan move to Arsenal, with the Mirror reporting as such 11 days ago

However Juventus coach Antonio Conte has been discussing the striker's slow start, and gives no indication he wants to move the new addition on so soon, instead indicating he is more of a project who will come good.

"Llorente spent a year on holiday at Bilbao. Not only did he not play, but he was also under incredible pressure. Llorente is a sensitive player and it wasn’t easy for him.

"He's arrived somewhere where there is a completely new style of football and that isn’t easy. Defenders tackle harder here than they do in Spain and he's adapting physically and tactically to a new style of football

"Llorente is progressing well and he’s a great player. I think that he’ll find his form and will play his way back into Spain’s international set-up."

You would think from his comments that Llorente is the last thing Arsenal need and vice versa. Llorente does not need to move to another new country and adapt to a new culture mid-season. If he were to go anywhere surely it would be back to Spain.

Arsenal likewise do not need a player who is going to take time getting up to speed, they need a player who can come in and make an impact straight away and help them kick on this season.

Let's make a not-so-bold prediction: Llorente will not be signing for Arsenal in January.
