One player who has been perpetually linked with a move to Manchester United over the years has been Italian international Claudio Marchisio.
The Juventus star was heavily linked with moves to Old Trafford over the past few seasons now, and in all honesty, United could certainly do with him considering their clear disadvantage in midfield so far this season.
But despite this, and a link with a mega-money move to AS Monaco this summer, Marchisio remains with Juventus - his boyhood club.
This term, once again the Bianconeri find themselves at the right end of Serie A, but have company.
AS Roma are in tremendous form - and disposed of Napoli in the Friday night fixture at the Stadio Olimpico through a Miralem Pjanic brace - to maintain their 100% record.
So that leaves Juve needing a win on Sunday in order to keep up with their capital rivals - but they face a tough task against Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Fiorentina have players injured, with Mario Gomez their biggest absentee, but Marchisio knows that Fiorentina are going to be a hard nut to crack - especially at home.
And before the game, Marchisio was singing the praises of one of La Viola’s players - and a former Manchester City player to boot:
David Pizarro spent six months on loan at City, winning a Premier League medal in the process.
But he only actually played five Premier League games for the club - having his more memorable moments in the Europa League as he struggled to grasp the English language.
But Marchisio feels he is second only to his own team-mate, Andrea Pirlo, in the heart of midfield.
“They have Pizarro, who after Pirlo is perhaps the best in that role. He creates the Fiorentina play and has great quality, so if we are able to block him then we’ll cause them a few problems.”
We will see on Sunday which of the veteran creators comes out on top.
