It sees Denver QB Peyton Manning make his first trip back to the team that he spent his first 14 years in the NFL and won a Super Bowl championship in the 2006 season.
Manning faces off against his successor at the Colts, Andrew Luck, in what is being billed as the game of the week. It will be NBC’s Sunday Night Football and you can be sure many will be tuning in to see if Manning can get one over on his old team and keep the Broncos unbeaten record going.
When the Colts drafted Andrew Luck with the first pick in the 2012 draft he was immediately burdened with the task of trying to replace the great Peyton Manning.
This was no easy task but I must say that the organisation and the player have handled the transition perfectly, at the time of releasing Manning it was suggested by some that it was a bad move but a year and half on it has worked out for both teams. Indianapolis got their quarterback of the future and Denver got a shot at winning a Super Bowl with one of the best QBs ever.
Indianapolis were beaten by San Diego on Monday Night Football last week to snap their winning run but they can still feel confident at home against the Broncos, after all they have already defeated the Seahawks in Indianapolis.
It is sure to be an excellent game with two explosive offences in what could turn out to be yet another shootout this season. I had a feeling that the Colts might upset Peyton’s homecoming but the return of Denver’s defensive playmaker,
