Florentino Perez has dropped a massive hint that Real Madrid will make a move for Falcao next summer.
The Real Madrid president has dismissed speculation over a long Real Madrid shopping list ahead of the winter transfer window, with some reports in Spain suggesting Liverpool forward Luis Suarez remains a target.
However, it now appears that Suarez is not a main priority for Perez who has made a habit in the recent past of going after his ideal transfer targets and more often than not, he’s succeeded in getting them. Falcao appears to be the main target.
“I hear that Falcao would like to play for Real,” he said according to Marca.
Perez has met with Falcao before as the picture from Marca shows, which means a personal relationship between the two individuals has already been forged and it could be a far easier deal for Los Blancos to complete than had they decided to go after Suarez.
Falcao's current deal with Monaco doesn't expire until 2018 but Real Madrid have proven they have the resources to go after any player they wish and there is no comparison between Monaco and Real Madrid in terms of club stature and history. There is also said to be a release clause in the striker's contract.
Liverpool should now be free to focus on the rest of the season, finishing fourth and trying to win some silverware which will make a new contract for their Uruguayan star much easier next summer.
