Hernandez in and Adebayor out for Tottenham, Townsend ready for Polish challenge

Chicharito Interview

A round up of the latest news about Tottenham Hotspur this morning.

Tottenham will apparently make a January move to sign Javier Hernandez from Manchester United.

The Mexican forward has found chances hard to come by under David Moyes this season and Emmanuel Adebayor could be pushed out to make way for the forward.

Spurs will promise Hernandez regular first team football at White Hart Lane, which he’s not been enjoying at Old Trafford.

Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend is staying calm ahead of England’s World Cup qualifiers against Poland.

Townsend scored the pick of the goals as England thrashed Montenegro at Wembley last week and he’s likely to start this evening.

“It hasn’t sunk in at the moment and I haven’t allowed it to because now we have another big game. That’s the best thing, to keep my feet on the ground and try not to get carried away,” said the midfielder.

Simon Dawkins will go on trial with Championship side Derby County.

Dawkins spent time on loan last season with Aston Villa where he made only four appearances as a substitute.

He returned to White Hart Lane and has been playing in the development squad but appears keen to secure regular first team football, which could mean a step down to the Championship.
