CONFIRMED: Germany line-up – Ozil back to midfield, not as False 9

Germany line-up for tonight’s World Cup qualifier against Sweden. Schurrle and Kruse starts. Draxler and Gotze on the bench.

One might not step on the field tired. That’s at least the mindset of Thomas Muller. He took a nap before the game, he wrote on Facebook.

Although Germany is qualified for the World Cup in Brazil, Jogi’s squad is keen to take revenge on Sweden. In last year’s qualifier Germany they were off to a good start leading with 4-0 after 55 minutes. However Sweden miraculously came back and turned the game around. At the end Germany was lucky not to lose the 4-4 draw. Manager Jogi Low will try to avoid this lack of concentration.

It helps that world-class striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic won’t play tonight due to a suspension.

Germany’s player to watch: Borussia Monchengladbach’s Max Kruse, who played in Bundesliga’s second division when Germany faced Sweden for the first time on their road to Brazil.

Vice captain Bastian Schweinsteiger will take the field for the 100th time next to Toni Kroos, who had a splendid game against Ireland. Sami Khedira is benched due to a yellow card suspension.

Mertesacker on the bench with a cold.
