With all the talk of a possible franchise in London many people are forgetting that the NFL has bigger priorities and that is bringing a franchise to Los Angeles.
I don’t think the NFL could justify moving a franchise to the UK without giving any thought to one of the biggest cities in the US.
Personally I think it would be great to see a team back in LA but the problem would be that the previous LA teams, the Rams and the Raiders, are both happily situated in St Louis and Oakland respectively.
It seems as though if there is to be a London franchise it will be Jacksonville making the move, their owner already has a base in London with his purchase of Fulham FC and it would make a lot of sense.
It has been nearly 20 years since the NFL moved out of LA for good and it would be great to see football back there. The only thing that is holding them back is the stadium situation at this point in time a new one would have to be constructed, this would obviously be a few years away.
What are the odds of having teams in LA and London in 10 years time? Well I think one is more likely than another but the important thing to remember is that Roger Goodell didn’t rule out anything just yet.
One major advantage for the LA franchise has to be the weather, ask yourself if you would rather live and work in sunny California or a cold and rainy UK.
Either way the NFL would be better off but fans can be excited for now with the increased number of International Series games next season.
