When Denmark need him the most, along he comes.
Nicklas Bendtner picked up a six month international ban from his national side in March after an embarrassing drink driving offence, with the Danish FA deciding to send the wayward striker a message.
On his comeback game for the Scandinavians, Bendtner showed his worth with an equalising international goal just before half-time against Italy in World Cup qualifying Group B, to keep his country's hopes of reaching the finals alive.
He then added a second after the break to give his side the lead in the 79th minute with another header, but was booked for taking off his shirt as he celebrated. He was subbed off five minutes later, robbed of a chance to score an improbable hat-trick.
It isn't the only comeback Bendtner has made in the last month, making an unlikely return to Arsenal where it had seemed his career at the Emirates was dead and buried.
