Reaction to the NFL's increased London schedule for 2014

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced this week that the 2014 season will include three International Series games at Wembley Stadium.

The Atlanta Falcons, Oakland Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars will be the home teams for those games but it is yet unknown who will be facing them, it is expected these teams will be announced later in the season.

Neil Reynolds of Sky Sports took to twitter to show his excitement.

I’m particularly excited about seeing the Raiders come to London because Wembley will look amazing decked out in the famous silver and black and not to mention Jack Crawford and Menelik Watson getting to play an NFL game on home turf.Watson, who grew up wanting to play football for Manchester City, will get the chance to play at Wembley Stadium, something any young British boy would dream of.

The Raiders and Falcons are both known for their passionate fans bases so we can expect some loud crowds and Jacksonville may very well be showing off their number one draft pick.

The only negative to come out of this is what Goodell said when asked about a potential London franchise, ‘a lot would have to happen before that could take place’ this doesn’t fill you with confidence about having a permanent NFL team here.

Despite this fans can be very excited about next season when they get to see not one but three games at Wembley. It’s great to see the game expanding even more over here and it really feels like this is unchartered territory for NFL in this country.

Looking at the 2014 expected schedules of the home teams we could seeing the Patriots, 49ers, Cardinals, Lions, Bears and the Cowboys take to the field.

We can’t really ask for more from the NFL and I’m sure that the three games next year will be even more well received than this years’, if that’s even possible.
