After having a minor ailment in his back, Andre Schurrle of Chelsea was unable to train with the German national team last Tuesday .
Chelsea’s manager Jose Mourinho will quite likely be able to line Schurrle up in next week's game against Cardiff City.
Despite being healthy again Schurrle couldn’t be assured of a starting position in the German national team. Manager Jogi Low seems to trust Arsenal target Schalke’s Julian Draxler, who plays also on the left side, a little bit more.
At least in recent games he preferred Draxler.
Schurrle will tackle problems in the national team like he did at Chelsea. “You have to stay humble”, the forward told DFB-media.
”But on the other side you have to believe in your strengths. You have to have self-confidence. In such a big club [like Chelsea] everyone is self-confident. Everyone knows what he is capable of doing. Everyone has huge quality.”
That means for Schurrle: no self doubts but “being self-opinionated” to persist.
With a increased Julian Draxler Schurrle has to get customised with bigger competition in the national team and has to face them. Lately German manager Low accused the Blues player that his performance is stagnating.
Maybe he has the chance to prove the greater competition in London helped him to face the even greater competition in the German national team. But it could be he has to get comfortable on the bench in tomorrows game against Ireland. The line-up tomorrow will tell.
What do you think? Will Schurrle succeed in the national team? Or will Draxler steal the show?
