Wilshere takes to Twitter to explain England comments

Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere has reacted quickly to clarify comments he made about the national side.

Speaking ahead of England’s World Cup qualifying games against Montenegro and Poland this Friday and Tuesday, Wilshere said that only English players should be allowed to play for England.

The debate over which country Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj pledges his future to goes on with Wilshere stating yesterday that people who aren’t English shouldn’t be allowed to play for England.

The FA have already expressed their interest in Januzaj representing England.

“For me, if you are English, you are English and you play for England. The only people who should play for England are English people. If you live in England for five years, it doesn’t make you English. You shouldn’t play,” said the midfielder.

However, he claims his comments have been taken the wrong way and deliberately portrayed in a negative light, with the press simply trying to make him look bad in relation to the United star who he wasn't specifically referring to.

Take a look.
