Manchester City shot-stopper Joe Hart may have been looking forward to the international break as it could represent an opportunity to get away from the media scrutiny regarding his substandard performances guarding goal at Eastlands, however, with Phil Jagielka in the squad, the 6'5 glovesman is getting it from all angles.
'Joe wouldn't want to tiptoe around the issue, he loves the banter more than anyone,' Jagielka claimed, as reported by the Express and Star.
With table tennis one of the more popular means of recreation, a number of England stars - in both the seniors and Under-21s - have been taking each other on in order to find out who is the best. Not all of the action is sportsmanlike, as Jagielka testifies when he psyches Hart out by reminding him of his near-post calamities during City's 3-1 loss to Bundesliga and Champions League double-winners Bayern Munich.
'You just throw the odd comment in. You're losing 10-9 to him at table tennis and I'm waiting for the next point, and you just say 'Bayern Munich!' or something.'
Teasing aside, Jagielka is fully confident Hart will return to peak form: 'Joe's a great guy and a fantastic goalkeeper and if he can take it like he has done all the power to him. There is no question in my mind how Joe will react and how he will perform.
'He knows he has the full backing of the whole squad and I am sure he is delighted to be here and he is looking forward to playing.'
