The Uruguayan has spoken about how thinking of his family is a calming influence.
This morning, Luis Suarez has spoken out over his new-found calmness and how his family have played a huge role in trying to change his personality on the field.
Suarez was indeed offered an anger management course after biting Branislav Ivanovic and such techniques are not unfamiliar when trying to keep a temper under control.
So far on his return to Liverpool, he has yet to put a foot wrong on the disciplinary front… but we’re only three matches in.
One of the things that warmed him to the hearts of Liverpool fans was his mentality on the field, his will to win – which was probably expressed through the wrong emotion. What could be seen as passion by some was anger by others.
Though no-one can question his desire to win, he still has the look of delight painted across his face whenever he scores, and the way he scored the opening goal against Crystal Palace at the weekend shows that he still doesn’t give up on the cause.
But there will be some waiting for the mask to slip with Suarez… the striker is box office. A wonderful footballer to watch, and his actions in the past have filled many column inches – several trees must have suffered as a result.
The greatest triumph this season for Suarez along with potentially firing Liverpool to Champions League qualification is keeping his head down, and behaviour in check.
