Manning leads the standout performers after five weeks

Denver Bronocs, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints and yes, the New York Jets feature.

We are over a quarter of the way through the NFL season and there have been many impressive individual performances so far. But who has impressed us the most?

Peyton Manning

No player has impressed more over the first five weeks than Peyton Manning, he has thrown 20 touchdowns and just one interception while leading the Broncos to a 5-0 start. He was obviously expected to be good this season but he has exceeded everyone’s expectations, you could say that his has reached perfection as a quarterback.

Geno Smith

The rookie out of West Virginia has had some struggles so far this season but he showed last in a few games already that he has the potential to be a quality NFL quarterback. In last night’s game against the Falcons he had his best performance as a pro, he threw three touchdowns with no turnovers. If he continues to improve like this the Jets could be in for an exciting future.

Julius Thomas

No one really knew about Julius Thomas before this season started but he has become one of Peyton Manning’s favourite targets. He scored his first touchdowns in his NFL career during the opening game against Baltimore and has gone from strength to strength in this record breaking Denver offence.

Drew Brees

Brees never really has a bad game in the NFL and this season is no different he has started off on fire and the New Orleans Saints are unbeaten, they are looking on course for a playoff berth and I’m sure not many teams will want to meet  the Saints. Brees has been the one consistent piece in the Saints over the past few years and you would be foolish to rule out a Super Bowl run with him at quarterback.

Andrew Luck

The 2012 first overall draft pick had an impressive rookie season leading his Colts side to the playoffs only a year after losing 14 games. So far this season he has looked to have improved his game and is becoming a feared QB in the NFL, both through the air and on the ground. The hype surrounding him coming out of college seems to be accurate; Indianapolis could be very dangerous as the year goes on this season.
