A select round-up of news relating to Manchester United, including two possible transfer moves and a former coach hints at a return.
Despite recent reports claiming Bruno Gomes was on his way to Italy, the Brazilian striker is said to remain keen on a move to Manchester United.
The Daily Star reports that the Desportivo Brazil teenager remains high on United’s radar and that a future move could still materialise; this despite claims Udinese had offered around £8million for him last month.
More recent reports have linked Brazilian giants Sao Paulo with a bid, but it is now claimed David Moyes will push through a move to ward off growing interest in the striker.
And Gomes may not be the only youngster arriving at Old Trafford in the near future, with Derby County’s Will Hughes linked with a January switch.
The Express claims new Rams boss Steve McLaren may soon be powerless to prevent the teenage midfielder from leaving Pride Park, with United just one of a number of clubs tipped to make a January bid.
And finally, former coach Rene Meulensteen has hinted that he could one day return to the club.
The Dutchman left following Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, having played an integral part in United’s recent success. And in quotes published by Sport Witness, the former Anzhi Makhachkala boss has given a hint that his days in Manchester may not be over.
Asked in a Twitter Q&A session if he could one day return to the English champions, Meulensteen replied, “”Why not?”
