News, views and rumours relating to Manchester United in the past 24 hours.
Manchester United won 2-1 against Sunderland on Saturday at the Stadium of Light, returning to winning ways via a sensational performance from youngster Adnan Januzaj who scored a brace for the Red Devils on his first start for David Moyes’ side who went 1-0 down after 5 minutes.
David Moyes described Januzaj as ‘special’ following the game on Saturday and compared his to United teammate Wayne Rooney.
"I remember giving Wayne his debut, and Ross Barkley, and Adnan is certainly that quality. He is a top, top player," Moyes told Sky Sports.
"He is going to be a special talent. He has got goals, he has got ability on the ball, but we will keep his feet on the ground here."
Moyes also praised the form of David De Gea – the young Spanish goalkeeper made another strong performance against the Black Cats with a save that could be a contender for save of the season.
"He is improving all the time. You can see he has great agility and he needed it to make that save," said Moyes.
"It is one of the best I have ever seen as well. It was incredible. I said it on the bench right away, what a save it was. It's an amazing save, it really is.”
Meanwhile,The Daily Mail reports that United are set to offer Januzaj a £60,000 per week deal to keep him at Old Trafford. The 18-year-old Belgian-born attacker’s contract expires this summer and the champions are keen to tie down the future of the star hailed as the ‘next Cristiano Ronaldo’.

Wayne Rooney also hopes Januzaj will join England, following national team boss Roy Hodgson’s plea on BBC Match of the Day for the youngster to pick England over Belgium.
“He’s been here since he was 16, but I’m not sure of the rules. I’m sure the FA will be doing everything they need to do to get him to play for England. It’s not down to me, but hopefully, I don’t know,” said Rooney.
“He’s a great prospect,” he added.
