Manchester City overcame a spirited Everton side 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon, coming from behind after Romelu Lukaku had initially put the Toffees in front.
The Belgian striker found the net in the 16th minute, only to see his goal cancelled out within 60 seconds by the Blues' Alvaro Negredo.
Sergio Aguero put the home side ahead on the stroke of half-time, capitalising on a through-ball from the returning David Silva.
When Seamus Coleman conceded a penalty for a foul on Pablo Zabaleta midway through the second half it seemed to be game-over. But Aguero will be relieved to have seen the ball find its way into the net off Tim Howard, after the American 'keeper had initially saved his spot-kick.
The result means Manuel Pellegrini's side move up to second in the Premier League, two points behind leaders Arsenal who play tomorrow.
