The Brazilian thinks the Celtic stopper would excel in La Liga.
Fraser Forster could someday swap Celtic Park for the Nou Camp if quotes from Barcelona right-back Dani Alves are to be believed.
The Brazilian was full of praise for the former Newcastle United goalkeeper, following his battling performance for the Bhoys against the Spaniards in the Champions League last week.
Forster pulled off a string of impressive saves to keep Celtic in the match, which was ultimately decided by a Cesc Fabregas header 15 minutes from time.
The 25-year-old’s form was enough to earn a recall to the England senior squad, with Roy Hodgson selecting the keeper alongside Joe Hart and John Ruddy.
His impressive displays for Celtic are also rumoured to have caught the eye of the Catalans, who are in the market for a new goalkeeper, with current no.1 Victor Valdes set to see his contract out and depart the club this summer.
And speaking in an interview with the Express, Alves concurred with the positive assessment of Forster, describing him as “fantastic”.
The full back noted that, in each of Barcelona’s three previous meetings with Celtic and 25-year-old in the last year and a half, he had excelled, and could yet be the subject of interest from the La Liga giants.
“Barcelona are a club that are always looking to add quality and it’s clear Forster has real quality,” he told the news provider.
“Obviously no transfers can be done at the moment – but if it is a deal that ever happens then he’d be a good addition.”
The comments come hot on the heels of similar praise from Juventus keeper Gianluigi Buffon, who previously stated his belief that Forster should be heavily involved in the England national team set-up.
Rumours meanwhile continue to circulate suggesting the Celtic man could be in line for a shock start with the Three Lions, following a string of poor displays from current no.1 Hart.
