CONFIRMED: Manchester United line-up – Januzaj starts, Rooney fit and Fellaini dropped

Sunderland Stadium of Light

Here is the Manchester United line-up for this evening’s match against Sunderland:

Starting XI: De Gea, Rafael, Jones, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, Cleverley, Nani, Januzaj, Rooney, van Persie

Subs: Lindegaard, Smalling, Giggs, Valencia, Kagawa, Welbeck, Hernandez

Quite simply, Manchester United must win today’s late kick-off against Sunderland. But given the Black Cats’ current predicament, so must they.

Following United’s 2-1 defeat at home to West Bromwich Albion last weekend, expect a response from Moyes’ men, while Sunderland have already rallied around caretaker boss Kevin Ball and will be a hard nut to crack.

Fabio Borini is available for the home side after sitting out last weekend’s defeat to parent-club Liverpool, although Steven Fletcher, Andrea Dossena and United old boy Wes Brown are all out.

United have not lost three consecutive league matches for more than a decade, and the murmurs of dissatisfaction will grow into something far more cacophonous if they slip up against the league’s bottom side.

What do you think the result will be this evening?
