Striker Daniel Sturridge has been named in the England squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Montenegro and Poland On October 11 and October 15. Sturridge has been one of the most prolific strikers in the Premier League this season and stands a good chance of starting both games.
Liverpool have been handed a piece of positive news ahead of the Premier League game with Crystal Palace this weekend, as Aly Cissokho is due to return to the squad. The defender has been out of action since injuring an ankle in the League Cup match against Notts County last August.

“I am loving it here and I am very satisfied. As long as I am on the pitch I just want to enjoy myself. The more games you play the more experience you get and I just want to carry on playing, help the team out and score some more goals,” he told Sky Sports.
Former Reds favourite Mark Lawrenson has suggested Liverpool’s three at the back system suits the current side perfectly. Liverpool have played a 3-5-2 formation recently owing to injuries to key defenders.
“If Brendan Rodgers raised eyebrows by fielding four centre-backs a fortnight ago, his subsequent decision to downsize to three has met with more widespread approval - I believe it suits Liverpool down to a tee,” he writes in the Liverpool Daily Post.
Liverpool are keeping a close eye on the progress of teenage defender Jack Robinson, currently on loan with Championship side Blackpool.
