Liverpool have been handed a piece of positive news ahead of the Premier League game with Crystal Palace this weekend, as Aly Cissokho is due to return to the squad. The defender has been out of action since injuring an ankle in the League Cup match against Notts County last August.

The representatives of Anzhi Makhachkala striker Lacina Traore have admitted there is strong interest in the player in Russia and around other parts of Europe. The forward has been suggested as a possible attacking reinforcement for Liverpool this winter.

Liverpool midfielder Lucas says he’s determined to make the most of his recent call up to the Brazilian national side. The 26-year-old hasn’t played for his country since November 2011 and has been rewarded for solid form this season as Liverpool continue a decent start to the campaign.

In transfer news, a report has suggested that former manager Rafael Benitez will try and sign Lucas along with Martin Skrtel this January. However, the strength of the rumours is questionable as Napoli have been routinely linked with Liverpool’s players since Benitez took over at the club.

Versatile midfield man Victor Moses has revealed he is thrilled with the start he’s made to life at Liverpool. Moses is a key feature of the current side and has already played more than one role across the midfield.

“I am loving it here and I am very satisfied. As long as I am on the pitch I just want to enjoy myself. The more games you play the more experience you get and I just want to carry on playing, help the team out and score some more goals,” he told Sky Sports.

Former Reds favourite Mark Lawrenson has suggested Liverpool’s three at the back system suits the current side perfectly. Liverpool have played a 3-5-2 formation recently owing to injuries to key defenders.

“If Brendan Rodgers raised eyebrows by fielding four centre-backs a fortnight ago, his subsequent decision to downsize to three has met with more widespread approval - I believe it suits Liverpool down to a tee,” he writes in the Liverpool Daily Post.

Liverpool are keeping a close eye on the progress of teenage defender Jack Robinson, currently on loan with Championship side Blackpool. The Reds have been linked with left-backs in the transfer market but seem set to give Robinson a chance to compete against Jose Enrique and Aly Cissokho when he returns to Anfield.

In a recent poll, 35% of Liverpool supporters revealed they believe Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho is a better player than Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil. Roughly 13,330 fans took part in the vote.
