Joe Hart faces competition for his number one place while Ross Barkley, Andros Townsend and Rickie Lambert have all retained their places.
Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster will be firmly focused on the very realistic chance that he could get to play some competitive football for England after Roy Hodgson gave him the nod for the next set of World Cup qualifiers.
Joe Hart made a couple of errors against Bayern Munich in Manchester City’s Champions League defeat and will be under pressure this weekend against Everton.
If Hart produces any more handling errors or mistakes which cost his side a goal, Hodgson may be forced into re-considering his selection for the next game against Montenegro after suggesting Hart will start.
Rickie Lambert has been rewarded for his performances in the last round of qualifying games, after scoring against Moldova and leading the attack well in Ukraine.
However, he may struggle to get into the side with the current form of Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge and Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney likely to be fully fit by the time the Montenegro clash comes round.
The only other selections of note relate to Everton midfielder Ross Barkley and Tottenham Hotspur winger Andros Townsend.
Barkley produced a superb display of midfield football against Newcastle United earlier this week while Townsend gave the Chelsea back four all sorts of problems in last Saturday’s 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane.
England top Group H by a point following good results in the last round of World Cup qualifying matches with a comprehensive win against Moldova backed up with a hard earned point away at Ukraine.
England will face Montenegro on Friday October 11 before entertaining Poland just a few days later on October 15, with both matches being played in London at Wembley Stadium.
The match against Montenegro will be arguably the more difficult of the two fixtures, with the Montenegrins chasing second place on the same number of points as Ukraine.
Poland currently sit fourth on a total of 13 points, two behind Ukraine and Montenegro and three behind England.
Here is what fans are making of the squad Roy Hodgson has selected, which you can view here.
Okay so bit much to drop him but he can keep the bench warm for the time being. Frazer Forster England's no.1 for me. #Eng— Mat Smith (@OMGItsMat) October 3, 2013
