Moyes will probably be grateful that has a break from the Premier League this week, as he takes his Manchester United side to Shakhtar Donetsk for a group stage Champions League match.
The Manchester United manager can also take some comfort in the fact his team put in a decent performance against Bayer Leverkusen in the competition, but a good start doesn’t mean it will be easy from here on in.
The interesting aspect going into this match is how will Moyes approach the game against a creative, athletic and often underrated side. Will Moyes set up to take a point in Ukraine tomorrow night? It's a difficult a place Donetsk is to go and win.
A point away from home in the Champions League group stages will be no bad result given that the seedings suggests that Donetsk are the toughest side Manchester United will face.
Four points from his first two games would be a good start to life in the Champions League for Moyes – and will be a welcome distraction from the realities of the Barclays Premier League.
