Chelsea morning news: Steaua Bucharest team news, Torres ban decision today

A round up of the key news stories about Chelsea this morning.

Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne will not play against Steaua Bucharest this evening.

The pair have been left behind in England as Chelsea look to put the first three points of their group campaign on the board after losing to FC Basel in their opening game.

Fernando Torres is likely to start in attack despite a red card against Tottenham in the Premier League last weekend.

Chelsea striker Torres may have to wait until this evening to find out if he faces an extended ban for scratching Jan Vertonghen in the face.

The Chelsea star appeared to scrape his thumb down the Tottenham defender’s face during the London derby at the weekend, which could leave him facing a four match ban.

The FA have until 6pm this evening to make their decision which means Torres may not learn of the decision until around kick-off time as Chelsea take on Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League.

On loan Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku bagged a brace as Everton defeated Newcastle United at Goodison Park.

The Belgian striker produced a fine display of power and touch play, scoring two good goals as Everton climbed the table.

Lukaku is on loan with the Toffees for the rest of the season and unfortunately for Chelsea, can’t be recalled.

Achtung! German's on alert to sign Chelsea's Kevin De Bruyne
