West Ham and Everton battle big guns for Belgium's top starlets

West Ham and Everton are said to be battling Arsenal and Chelsea in monitoring top youngsters at Belgian side Anderlecht.

The Belgian conveyor belt of talent seemingly shows no sign of stopping any time soon.

With the nation set to clinch their spot at World Cup 2014, there are a raft of youngsters who could even be battling for international places in tournaments far beyond that.

Jupiler Pro League champions Anderlecht own several, and Premier League clubs are taking note, and also of young players from other nations at the club.

Belgian based journalist John Chapman reports via Twitter that West Ham and Everton sent scouts to check out the talent at the club, along with representatives of Chelsea, Arsenal, and Juventus and Atletico Madrid.

So who are the players concerned? Here are our quick profiles of the Anderlecht prospects.

Dennis Praet

Praet, 19, is already a regular in Anderlecht's first team. He is an attacking midfielder who likes to play centrally behind the strikers and is a Belgian under-21 international. In 11 games so far this season he has two goals and four assists. He scored six times last season and provided eight assists in 39 first team games for the club. He is valued at around £6 million.

Youri Tielemans

Tielemans is the rawest yet most exciting of the bunch. He is just 16 yet is already playing in central midfield for the first team and scored his first senior goal earlier this month. Manchester United have also recently been linked with his services. He played all 90 minutes in the 2-0 win over Lierse this weekend.

Massimo Bruno

Bruno, 20, is a right-winger with a keen eye for goal. He also is an under-21 international and is valued at around £3.5 million. Bruno has scored seven goals in 11 matches and provided five assists this season. He has almost eclipsed last season's tally of eight goals. Bruno has a long-term contract until 2017.

Frank Acheampong

Acheampong is the exception in the list, for he hails from Ghana and is simply playing his club football in Belgium. 19-years-old, he is a left-winger signed for just £880,000 this summer. Acheampong has had a sensational start to the season scoring six goals and providing three assists. He featured for Ghana's World Cup under-20 team, and has since been called into the senior side where he has one cap.
