After their summer transfer business, big things were expected of Norwich City this season. And yet while the Canaries were expected to soar, they have done anything but in the opening weeks of the season.
Today's 1-0 victory over Stoke City was a much needed boost for Chris Hughton and his players; and coming against a well-drilled side at the Britannia Stadium, Norwich should be proud of their efforts.
The only goal of the game was scored by Jonny Howson in the 34th minute - a low 25-yard strike that beat Potters 'keeper Asmir Begovic.
While Mark Hughes' side had the majority of possession, they managed only one short on target, with a further seven failing to test visiting goalkeeper John Ruddy.
The result sees Norwich leap-frog Stoke in the table, with the two sides 14th and 15th respectively.
