Aaron Ramsey, Lukas Podolski, Thomas Eisfeld, Serge Gnabry and Mesut Ozil are among the Arsenal players with a smile on their face this weekend ... and why not!
After the opening day of the season the doom and gloom descended. Universally everyone was worried that Arsenal were now finished - they were cooked, toast, overdone … to borrow a word from my German ancestors - kaputt!
Aston Villa battered and bruised them with strength, vigour, pace and overall quality at The Emirates on opening day - coming away with a 3-1 victory that left beaming smiles at White Hart Lane visible from the Hubble space station. They were revelling in Arsenal’s misfortune like pigs in mud, and rightly so, Arsenal fans would have done the same.
Then something happened - they went to Turkey and gave Fenerbahce a footballing lesson, and have not looked back.
Since the defeat to Villa Arsenal have won five Premier League games on the bounce with many of their biggest names out injured and Aaron Ramsey has become the best player in the Premier League at the moment by an absolute mile - it is almost as if we have entered the worst nightmare of Daniel Levy.
Arsenal are now celebrating being top of the Premier League, outright, with 15 points from a possible 18 - two ahead of nearest rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool. Some fans are daring to dream, some are just waiting for it all to go horribly wrong.
But it has certainly seen the players emerge from the woodwork slightly. Arsenal fans are some of the more technically savvy in the Premier League - and those that often interact with fans on social media.
From Twitter, to Facebook to Instagram and even YouTube the likes of Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey can often be seen updating from behind the scenes or in enthusiasm at their team.
And as The Gunners go into the Champions League game with Napoli top of the league they have plenty of reason to celebrate - and have been sharing that with the whole world to see.
Here are some of the social media interactions from Arsenal players, buzzing to be at the top of the league…
