Hull City secured a narrow win over West Ham United thanks to a first-half penalty from in form winger Robbie Brady.
It’s a result which didn’t really reflect the true nature of the 90 minutes, with West Ham ahead in terms of shots on goal and close to complete domination in terms of possession.
West Ham will definitely feel hard done by due to the penalty award, as the referee pointed to the spot in the 12th minute after Joey O’Brien gently nudged Brady inside the penalty area.
It was a decision which temporarily turned the game in Hull’s favour with Sam Allardyce and West Ham captain Kevin Nolan visibly affected by the decision.
West Ham good chances in the form of Modibo Maiga and Mark Noble inside the first 45 minutes and their frustration was doubled in the second-half when the Hammers could have had a spot kick of their own through a Hull handball.
However, it wasn’t to be and the Tigers closed out the match for three points.
