White Hart Lane

A round up of the key news stories about Tottenham Hotspur this morning.

Andre Villas-Boas is confident Tottenham can put together a strong title challenge this season.

If Spurs get the better of Chelsea in the lunch time kick-off, they will retain their position at the top of the table.

“It's a sign of the evolution of Tottenham that we are considered to be challengers for teams like Chelsea now. It shows our ambition,” said the Spurs boss.

Spurs will be missing Younes Kaboul for the match who has a thigh problem while Etienne Capoue remains out with an ankle problem.

Winger Aaron Lennon missed the narrow win over Swansea City and is rated as a doubt for the match.

Left-back Danny Rose may also miss the match as he continues his recovery from an ankle knock, which he picked up in the Europa League game against Tromso.

Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a move for Belgian youngster Youri Tielemans.

The teenager is currently plying his trade in his home country with Anderlecht and has already made his senior debut for the side as well as being capped twice by the Belgian Under-21 team.

Spurs will reportedly pay a fee of around £1 million to try and poach him away from the club.
