A round up of the key news stories about Chelsea this morning.
Former Chelsea player Pat Nevin has said manager Jose Mourinho is envious of Tottenham’s Andre Villas-Boas.
“Every manager in the country would be envious of AVB (Villas-Boas) and that includes Jose. Who wouldn’t want to get enough money to build a new team?” said Nevin.
Mourinho has told young midfielder Kevin De Bruyne that he needs to prove himself and adapt to playing for a big club.
De Bruyne has made appearances in 50% of Chelsea’s matches so far this season having started in the team before losing his place.
“The first thing to understand is that Bremen does not have the same squad as Chelsea. When you have more competition, you have to compete every game and every minute - He has to work very hard,” said Mourinho.
Juan Mata has reiterated his loyalty to Chelsea suggesting he will fight to wear the blue shirt of the club.
Mata has been continuously linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge with suggestions that Mourinho doesn’t seem him as part of his first team plans.
“I will play wherever he demands - I think Jose can help me. Every manager can try to improve their players. It's his job to bring the best out of his players,” said the Spaniard.
