Arsenal morning news: Wilshere on Ozil’s ‘near-perfect performance’; Ramsey to join elite?

A select round-up of news relating to Arsenal, including Jack Wilshere’s feelings on both his club and his teammates and Aaron Ramsey’s future.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has been speaking to the Daily Mail on all things football, with his feelings towards new teammate Mesut Ozil and his hopes for Arsenal’s future among the most interesting.

The England midfielder has praised the German’s ability, and talked about the time he had to wait to see him perform due to the international break.

It was a bit frustrating we had to wait as long as we did to see him,” Wilshere said. “But he’s going to fit right in. He’s an excellent player, and I thought on his debut against Sunderland he gave a near-perfect performance.”

Few who saw him that day would disagree with that.

Much is hoped of Arsenal this season, and Wilshere believes it is time the Gunners’ fans were rewarded.

The players know it is time we did something as well,” he said.

Another Arsenal starlet who has blossomed this season is Aaron Ramsey, and Wales Online has published a piece asking if the Welshman can follow Gareth Bale’s lead into becoming one of Europe’s elite players.

With Ramsey returning to Wales this weekend to face Swansea, he will be hoping to maintain his outstanding start to the campaign. And the report claims that given his all-round midfield game, it is hard to argue against him being one of the very best in his position.

Now the trick is to do it not just for weeks and months, but for years…
